Treatment Approach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Helpful for: Anxiety, stress, codependency, and depression.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Helpful for: Anxiety, life transitions, feelings of being “lost” or “stuck” in life, relationships, and careers.

CBT is designed to challenge the negative thoughts we have about ourselves and the world around us that cause us to think things like: “I’m not good enough,” “I will always be this way,” or “No one likes me.” Over time, these thoughts can become ways of being that keep us from living up to our fullest potential. CBT helps us realize that if we change the way we think about ourselves, we can truly live lives where we feel hopeful, resilient, and worthy of love.

ACT combines mindfulness and acceptance strategies with commitment and behavior change techniques to help us live more meaningful lives. ACT encourages us to accept our thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them, and to commit to taking action that is aligned with our values and goals. By fostering psychological flexibility, ACT helps us develop a healthier relationship with our thoughts and emotions, enabling us to respond more effectively to life's challenges.

Mindfulness

Helpful for: Anxiety, stress, and trauma.

It seems like every day new studies are emerging that praise mindfulness as a tool to reduce stress and increase overall wellbeing. Mindfulness can take on many forms, including meditation, breath work, body awareness, and even a walk in nature. In our sessions, I may use mindfulness and somatic techniques to help you better understand your feelings, help you center yourself, or simply teach you how to de-stress.

Ecotherapy

Helpful for: Trauma, anxiety, life transitions, nature lovers.

Nature Therapy, or Ecotherapy, is the process of using nature a tool to enhance healing. Have you ever been in awe at a mountain sunset? Invigorated by a brisk swim or enveloped in wonder at a butterfly? Sit for a moment with those memories and feelings. This is what Ecotherapy is all about. While Ecotherapy can take many forms, my blend incorporates mindfulness, transpersonal therapy, intuitive exploration, metaphor, eco-art, and nature dialogue to create a unique and spontaneous experience that goes beyond classic talk therapy.
